If your gate lowers but will not go up and you hear a clicking sound try this:
Step 1: with plyers you want to bypass solenoid located on the motor by finding good ground. Go positive-negative and if your gate goes up then you may have a bad solenoid. If it does not go up then see step 2.
Step 2: remove both bolts from your motor. Check your motor's brushes to see if they are worn. If that is the case then you need to replace your motor. If the brushes are good then go to step 3.
Step 3: In the center of the drive plate locate your shaft. Grab plyers to turn shaft counter clockwise, it should turn smoothly. If it does not turn smoothly then you need to replace your pump. If your unit passed these 3 steps then please contact us at (714) 591-9295
If your gate sags or goes down but not up then please troubleshoot either of the following parts:
Motor, Pump, Release Valve, Starter Solenoid, Switches including thermal switch.
The motor's brushes is what spins your motor, your motor then activates the armature which then turns your internal pump. Check if your brushes are still in good condition. Without good brushes your motor will not spin correctly & you will need to replace your motor ( brushes are not sold separately)
Grab your screwdriver and push down and if the coil pulls then it is working properly since they are spring loaded. Correct Voltage that should be going to the valves is 12.6
Check for leaks coming from the shaft or the body. A very small amount is okay, but any significant amount indicates failure and cylinder needs to be replaced. You can also check the pressure line to see if there is too much air or fluid.
Small valves have two wires. Remove the valve and with a paper clip push center plunger. This is spring loaded and should only move approximately 1/8" back and forth. Your valve may be staying open and not working properly if it moves more than 1/8".
